ADBR's 'DCP at a Glance'
Your indispensible guide to Australian new
military capability acquisition projects

Following February's release of the Defence Capability Plan (DCP) update, ADBR researchers have reviewed last July's DCP in light of formal Government statements and announcements through to end-June 2010, and have incorporated this data into an update of our A3 print-sized 'DCP at a Glance' tabulation.

The 'DCP at a Glance'+ charts all the principal information points and key milestones advised in the original Defence White Paper, 2009 DCP and 2010 DCP Update, and running forward, ultimately, to release of the next Defence White Paper.

The baseline chart helps ADBR readers to better comprehend the evolution of the DCP, while also providing a format that underpins future ADBR magazine editions.

ADBR regularly covers the roll-out of Government decisions on not only the DCP, but also the strategic reform program (SRP), and the provision of resources to drive the Australian military's 'Force 2030' vision.

Now available in its latest electronic update version to ADBR subscribers (via subscriber-only download portal), the 2010 'DCP at a Glance'+ tracks and consolidates all project consideration and approval milestones against those presented in the former 2006-2016 outlook.

This gives a unique perspective on which programs have been positively reprioritised (ie: brought forward), and which programs have suffered major slippages in either their 'first pass' or 'second pass' consideration dates, and thus, their prospects for timely introduction into service. A similar methodology has also been applied to tracking the fortunes of individual project budgets.
